Has 2 “training flats”. These are self-contained flats that are designed to allow people to “practice” living independently, but with support that is instantly accessible should they require it. By moving our service users through these different accommodation stages and gradually reducing their support levels, we help them to become accustomed to independent living.

This is an 8-bed house, which offers a place of support to people with alcohol or drug dependencies. King Street is a “dry house”, meaning that service users are not allowed to drink on the premises. We aim to support people who are undertaking substance misuse courses linked with outside agencies. This approach forms part of a bid to recognise substance abuse problems and attempt to rationalise them within a structured context. Its aim is harm minimisation rather than total abstinence.
